Adherence to sleep therapy can have a great impact on a patient’s quality of life. RMS has a professional staff to help patients overcome the fears and anxiety of using their therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Mask selection, patient education and ongoing follow up all play a crucial role in improved compliance and outcomes for patients needing CPAP/BiLevel therapy. A patient’s compliance to therapy in the first few weeks after initiating use is predictive of long-term compliance with CPAP and Bi-Level treatment. Our sleep therapy compliance program addresses these issues to ensure compliance to patient’s prescribed therapy.

Patients work with a professional staff including a Respiratory Therapist.

Patients receive personal education on OSA for a better understanding of OSA and management that includes:

·        Personal instruction on setup and maintenance of their equipment.

·        Educational material

·        Videos

Follow up to ensure tolerance to therapy and receive support to encourage adherence to therapy.

·        Therapy is initiated 1-5 days after the order is received

·        Patient is contacted to inform of order received and given a set-up date

·        Patient can be set-up in their home or at the store location

·        Scheduled follow up appointments to determine if the patient needs a re-evaluation, reinstruction or a mask change at 7 days after initial set up, 30 days, 90 days, and every 6 months thereafter

·        If the patient is coming from the sleep lab, then the sleep lab will receive notification the patient has received their equipment. The sleep lab and referring physician will also receive any interactions we have with the patient
